I have an encrypted Mac OS Extended volume in which I store my most sensitive passwords. (It is *not* NTFS!)
Calibre is more than just an eBook reader. It plays host to a bunch of fantastic. Big Sur compatibility. Big Sur is the latest version of macOS. It arrived on some Macs in November.
When you are ready to go back to your old version of the OS, just shut down your Mac, and while it starts up keep the Alt/Option key until you see the option to open from your original volume. MAC OS X refuses to mount the main volume Macintosh HD, saying that there's an 'Invalid content in journal' 0. Need help deciphering TestDisk results to fix HDD. Startup Disk full - Read-only- cannot boot Mac Mini. Can't read/write via `dd`: got /dev/disk2: Permission denied (to Physical device). So you can use all the apps you love on your Mac, and have access to your mail, contacts, and calendar from the office, all at the same time. Access your files from anywhere with iCloud. Your Mac comes with iCloud Drive, which lets you safely store all your presentations, spreadsheets, PDFs, images, and any other kinds of files in iCloud.
If I mount the volume from my own account, I get full read/write access to the contents. However, I've just mounted the volume from my wife's account and I only get read only access. Under Sharing & Permissions, it says 'You can only read'.
The permissions box below that is greyed out (even when I unlock the padlock). And unchecking 'Ignore ownership on this volume' simply changes read-only to 'no access'. Bonanza vacation mode.
Sync or swim mac os. Does anyone know how to get read and write access to this volume? (And incidentally, why isn't it read & write access in the first place?)
